Brisbane to Vietnam

A long day of travel, fortunately with an outstanding airline. I can't praise Singapore airlines enough, they were even better than Hawaiin and made the journey a pleasure. A little bit of a downer on arrival into Ho Chi Min  where I had to que for an hour at passport control, but it all went well. Caught a taxi & finally arrived at the hotel at about 8.30.

About to board in Brisbane. They have very modern and comfortable aircraft, with a fantastic and well thought out seating set up. All the little extras and the polite crew made the flight a pleasure on both flights. Having 2 empty seats beside me was a bonus too.

Landed Changi in Singapore after descending through a stormy sky.

Changi.

The snooze lounge at Changi very quiet and comfortable resting place between flights, with USB and power points for charging beside each lounge.

Flying through another spectacular and stormy sky coming into Vietnam, just on sunset.

Video, Saigon traffic
Its always busy, even at night.

More traffic.

Day .1. Brisbane

I hitched a ride to Brisbane with Sue & mark. We arrived fairly early, walked down and caught a ferry into the city where we went to the roof of the new casino  and took in the view, a walk to South bank & a nice dinner at the pub. The first day went well. Tomorrow a flight to Singapore then on to Ho Chi Min city, Vietnam.

Your're not leaving again are you ?

I'm going to lie on your pillow until you get back.

The taxi has arrived.

We're off.

The blur of a stolen car flying past us. Crime in QLD is out of control.

On the ferry.

From the casino rooftop.

On the glass floor.

Southbank.

Dinner, thats the top of Mark's bald head.

Pre Departure (a last minute decision)

Tis the night before departure, I am still throwing together a few last minute items.

I finally read the itinery for this trip yesterday and find that it may be quite interesting.

I swore that my blogging days were over , but it seems that there may be some interesting pictographs that may need to be kept in an easily accessible format, so here I am again. Reading this blog may not present an accurate picture of this trip as I am notoriously fast & loose with facts. If you require an accurate description of this trip I recommend you read either Sue or Wendy's blog. These are the links to their blogs.

Since I haven't got there yet, here is a random picture that I took down at the beach a while ago, I kind of like it, I think it looks cool.

Last days in Hanoi

We did a little more low key exploring and tomorrow everyone is heading home. The other seven are leaving before 5 in the morning and I am ...
