Cycling today 37k or 50k depending on who you ask. Half hour in the bus to lunch then 4 and a half hours in the bus to our hotel in Quang Ngai, everyone was getting sick of the bus.
Bob has come down with the dreaded lurgy and was not cycling today and as he is my room mate it's not looking good for me.
Beach in front of last nights digs
Getting ready to go.
We are away.
Monument celebrating the wind.
Plenty of abandoned half finished accommodation projects and plenty of completed ones with no one in them.
There are many of these houses that aren't houses, always at least 3 levels. They are only external walls and hollow inside, the side walls have many holes for swallows to build nests in which are then harvested twice a year for bird nest soup bringing 20 million dong per kg. They play loud bird song through speakers all day long to attract the birds. I have not seen any birds, I think everthing gets eaten here.
Rice paper drying in the sun.
Fish farms
Rest break
Gutting fish to make fish sauce and fish patties. The smell is overpowering.
Fish patties
More fish farms
The track was getting tougher.
This wobbly bridge was 700metres long & we met numerous oncoming motor bike on the crossing.
Video, rickety bridge.
Endless fish farms
Every bay & inlet seems to be filled with fish farms, the water must be badly polluted.
The hills are covered with timber plantations, mainly eucalyptus.
Flooded rice paddies
Many rice paddies have graves in them.
